Can the proctor be a friend or a neighbor?

Yes, the proctor can be a friend or neighbor as long as the are a disinterested party and at least 18 years of age.

What do you mean by "DISINTERESTED PARTY?"

This means the proctor can have invested interest in the student passing the exam. For example, a proctor cannot be a spouse or a person, related to you or not related, who depends on the income of the student, or a supervisor at your workplace. Anyone who has a vested interest in the student passing the exam CANNOT be a proctor.

Do I have to take my course final in the presence of a proctor?

Yes, the proctor must be present the entire time the student is taking their exam and when the course is submitted to DOHRN for grading, whether graded by DOHRN online or if a CE Answer Sheet is faxed or emailed to DOHRN for grading.

FAQ’S ABOUT CE EXAMS:

Is there any advantage to having DOHRN grade my CE FINAL by ME entering my answers online at their website?

Yes, the process is more streamlined because the ATTESTATION FORM is embedded in the process and required information is supplied along with the student request for grading. The process is also faster because once the GRADE button is presses, which includes the ATTESTATION FORM, the student is immediately sent a completion certificate and the credit hours are placed in the reporting queue for submission to the state.

Of course, the CE student can choose to fax or email their CE Exam Answer sheet to DOHRN for grading but this process is more time consuming for the student and DOHRN. Additionally, the student must have ATTESTATION FORM fully completed and signed by the proctor and submitted with the CE Exam Answer sheet when faxed or emailed to DOHRN for grading. Failure to provide the ATTESTATION FORM will result in grading and reporting delays.

If I want to submit my CE FINAL EXAM answers to DOHRN for grading online, how does that work?

The CE grading link is

You will be asked to supply your registration number and the name of the course you wish to have graded. Then screen will appear with a box for each question for you to put in your answer (A, B, C or D) you selected. At the point you submit your answers for grading by DOHRN, the proctor will be asked to affirm and attest that the student complied with all requirements. The GRADE button is selected and, if you passed, you will receive by email an immediate course completion letter.
