Basics of Life Settlements

A one-hour, general continuing education credit, via webinar only, offered to our clients FREE of charge.

This one-hour continuing education credit course is offered to educate licensed producers on the growing life settlement marketplace and is designed to protect producers with basic information on the topic to allow them avoid engaging in illegal or questionable ethical situations. Life settlements are explained and differentiated from illegal Stranger Originated Life Insurance.

This course analyzes the basics of the history behind the creation of the life settlements market, its current status and where it may be headed in the future. The process involved in a life settlement is included for review. Financial professionals need to be aware of this concept in order to provide sound guidance to consumers, especially since most candidates for life settlements are senior citizens. Basic taxation concepts are also discussed. This information is crucial to all licensed producers, regardless of lines of authority.
